Footrests for RACING kayaks
We use a simple but reliable, in-house made footrest system for all our flatwater kayaks, operated with a spring-slider system.
SET-UP & INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The distance of the footrest can be simply adjusted by pulling a simple spring-slider together and sliding the footrest in a pair of rails. Releasing the spring-slider at the right distance will fix the footrest.
The footrest can be double-fixed using two bolts at the bottom of the rails. You can easily tighten these bolts by hand reaching them under the footrest.
Various footrests are available for our FITNESS kayaks
- Narrow footrest (as described above) is used for all flatwater (RACING, FITNESS and MINI) kayaks as standard. It suits for most paddlers as the default footrest-seat distance is set up for each customer's height.
- Full footrest for intensive legwork to also support the heels during paddling. In this case the footplate angle is adjustable in 3 positions.
- Extra long brings the footplate 7 cm closer to the seat. It is offered as a spare part if many people of different heights will use the boat (eg. for clubs and rentals). Note, that it does NOT allow a higher range to adjust the footrest-seat distance! If the boat will be used just by a "smorter-than-average" paddler, we advise to set up the whole footrest system closer to the seat.
Tiller Bars (T-Bars)
A T-shaped alumunium bar is used to keep direction & steer the boat by feet. Adjusting its length can be made simply by hand using a bolt on the top of the T-Bars.
