Kalandor is a huge team/camp/family canoe that is 650cm (21.5’) in length and 107cm (42”) wide, equipped with 5 rows of bench seating plus a coxswain’s seat moulded into the aft deck. It can accommodate 5-9 paddlers so they can have plenty of space whils sitting comfortably and enjoying the outdoors even during multi-day trips.

The canoe is extra wide so you can experience incredible stability, still it remains quite fast to cover great distances. This spacious canoe allows you to bring along your camping tent, sleeping bag, waterproof bags etc. If you’re looking for a canoe that’s easy to use, stable, tracks well in the water, and is ready for an adventure, then the Kalandor 650 is the canoe of choice. It is also a huge asset to clubs running camps, recreational divisions and/or dragon boat teams!

The "Kalandor" (translated from Hungarian as "Adventurer") canoe was made in a cooperation between KAPE Kayak & Canoes and the Hungarian Canoe Federation (MKKSZ) in 2018. The goal was to create the most suitable craft for a nation-wide series of youth camps (called VíziVándor, translated from Hungarian as "WaterWanderer") coordinated and organised by the Federation involving local clubs, canoe coaches an schools.

In these summer camps children paddle along different water trails for 5-6 days. These trails have been designated along Hungary's major rivers & lakes. The stops & access points are mostly canoe & kayak clubs. Since the beginning of this youth camp series we have produced more than 100 Kalandor canoes, which are also open to the public at most access points.

Construction

All boats are made to order. You can choose your preferred colour(s) of the hull, the deck areas (incl. gunwales & thwarts) and seats.

RAL colors CANNOT be displayed entirely proper on computer screens. The color depends on your monitor and printer. Therefore the exact shade of the product may be different than seen here! Please use these color samples as a reference only! We recommend you to see a physical and official RAL color guide to be sure of the correct color.
