Entry-level touring sea kayak for shorter coastal trips, flat water and light river touring. For those who are looking for a safe but enjoyable kayak to start paddle with.
With the “gateway” length (480 cm) for proper composite sea kayaks, the Zephyr 480 is for those who want a bit of everything. Long enough to have the speed to keep pace with any group and carry a load when required. Still short enough to be easily maneuvered and managed, especially off the water. It can be easily transported and stored. The boat has good stability & maneuverability. The big cockpit size allows an easy entry and exit. So the Zephyr 480 has everything that is needed for a safe but fun entry-level sea kayak.

Features & fittings

Seat

A hajót masszív, a lehetőségekhez képest kényelmes üléssel szereljük, amihez háttámlát rögzítünk.

Backrest

Alapfelszereltségként kényelmes, jó támasztást biztosító, merev, párnázott háttámasszal szereljük a hajót.

Választható a hevederrel rögzített, habszivacs háttámasz-változat is, mely szabadabb mozgást biztosít a törzsnek. Ez élezéskor vagy eszkimózásál praktikus.

SmartTrack rudder & pedals

A hajó alapfelszereltsége a "SmartTrack" farkormány. A farkormány "felbillenő", illetve a beülő mellett elhelyezett zsinór segítségével vízszintes helyzetbe felhúzva rögzíthető.

A kormányzás alapfelszereltség szerint kétoldali "SmartTrack" kormánypedállal, a lábfejünk segítségével történik. Ennek távolsága nagy tartományban, a hajóban ülve is állítható. Ez a pedáltípus a hajó belső oldalfalaira rögzített, így szűk terpeszben, a térdünket a beülő alján megtámasztva tudunk kényelmesen kajakozni. Pihenéskor lábunkat összezárva kinyújhatjuk azt.

Available with a retractable skeg

A high quality retractable skeg is available to chose instead of (or together with) rudder. It increases the tracking efficiency of the boat and helps it to resist weathercocking (turning into the wind) in a crosswinds

Compartments, hatches & deckfittings

A hajó három tárolórekesszel rendelkezik, amiket jól záró deklik fednek. Az elülső és hátsó tárolórekeszekben akár több napos túrázásokhoz szükséges felszerelést is magunkkal vihetünk, ami egyenletesen elosztható a hajóban. A kézközelben lévő "napi" tároló telefon vagy kulcs praktikus tárolásra szolgál.

A kajak deck része gumikötélzettel jól felszerelt, amik a deckbe süllyesztett kötélvezetőkön haladnak át. A kajak elején és hátulján a könnyű szállítást segítő fogantyúk találhatók.

These constructions are set up in line with the requirements of each segment of the recreational market - from rentals, clubs & hobbyists to expedition paddlers - while providing the most favourable quality and price conditions for that specific group of users.

More about constructions

Constructions differ in the materials and technologies used during the manufacturing process. These determine the stiffness, the weight and the interior appearance of the boat. In practice, an upper construction results a stiffer, more lightweight & spectacular boat, but it requires more caution during use

Besides, the standard and available fittings may be also different in some constructions. These are listed at the "Fittings" section of this article.

Tips & more about the available colours

Think carefully about choosing black and dark colours!

Such boats warm up more & they become matt very soon. Scratches and limescale are also much more visible on these surfaces.

Less is more:

We recommend picking only two, maximum three colours for a coherent boat design.

More is more:

(Because of the overlapping gelcoat layers) more colours results in more weight.

Availability of clear (transparent) surfaces:

Clear carbon seat & cockpit rim are available in EXTRA & ULTRA constructions.

Clear carbon hull is available in EXTRA & ULTRA constructions.
(Bow & stern of the clear carbon boat are black gradient)

Clear carbon-kevlar hull is available in SUPER construction.
(Bow & stern of the clear carbon-kevlar boat hulls are colored)
